DMIT stands for Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test. It is a test that analyzes the fingerprints to determine a person's inborn intelligence. The science of dermatoglyphics is the study of the patterns of skin ridges on the fingertips, toes, and soles of the feet. These patterns are unique to each individual and are believed to be influenced by genetics and brain development. The DMIT was invented by Dr. Harold Cummins, a professor of anatomy at the University of Michigan. Dr. Cummins was interested in the relationship between fingerprints and intelligence, and he conducted extensive research on the topic. He believed that the patterns of fingerprints could be used to identify a person's strengths and weaknesses in different areas of intelligence.
Our brain is divided into two hemispheres viz. left hemisphere and right hemisphere, also known as left brain and right brain. The left part of our brain, i.e. left brain, controls the right part of our body and right brain controls the left part of our body. Both the hemispheres of our brain perform different tasks.
The DMIT is based on the theory of multiple intelligence, which was developed by Dr. Howard Gardner. Dr. Gardner proposed that there are eight different types of intelligence, each of which is important for learning and success. The eight types of intelligence are:
⇒ Linguistic Intelligence : The ability to use language effectively. ⇒ Logical-Mathematical Intelligence : The ability to think logically and solve problems. ⇒ Spatial Intelligence : The ability to think in three dimensions and visualize spatial relationships. ⇒ Bodily-Kinesthetic Intelligence : The ability to use the body to solve problems and create. ⇒ Musical Intelligence : The ability to appreciate and create music. ⇒ Interpersonal Intelligence : The ability to understand and interact with others. ⇒ Intrapersonal Intelligence : The ability to understand oneself. ⇒ Naturalist Intelligence : The ability to understand and appreciate nature. ⇒ Existential Intelligence : The ability to think about the meaning of life and existence.
